And they all lived happily ever after.

I think I'll just cut to the chase. I am retiring Classic Black Pumps. For good. We're not just moving to Tumblr or taking a hiatus. This post is going to be the last one that I ever write on this blog. My enthusiasm for fashion blogging has worn down considerably as school, friends, and romance are taking a front seat in my priorities. As I've said in recent posts, writing this blog has been an amazing experience. I've learned a lot and grown a great deal as a person through my years maintaining it and I am going to miss it terribly

Oh. And I have another announcement. Ladies and Gentleman, I am proud to present to you my newest blogging project, Daisy and Yves. For a detailed explanation on why it's my remedy to being exhausted with fashion blogging, please read my inaugural entry and if you like what you see, become a follower. I'm taking the focus away from fashion and taking a more personal approach to blogging. I've posted a few entries since I started Daisy and Yves a week ago, and I can already tell that I've made the right decision. I hope you agree.

Thank you so much for reading Classic Black Pumps all these years. And thank you even more for joining me as I pursue a new online adventure. I love you all. I truly, sincerely do.

Watch this space.

Hello loyal and lovely readers. I don't have much to say at present, but a major change is about to happen. Come back on January 2 for a little announcement.

Attention, shoppers.

It's been awhile. Like a really, really long while. So here's the plan: I will catch you up very briefly on Hillary-World, and will then write about something we can all benefit from. And just what might that something be? Smarter shopping. Read on, readers!

So my life. It's been going alright. Incredibly busy (which is my rather paltry excuse for the lack of posts) but wonderful just the same. My IFB internship was a fabulous learning experience, and more than anything else gave me a whole new level of respect for people like Jennine who put so much time into making the online community work together. Maura is going to school in Chicago now which rules. School is challenging and a thrill. I know people typically use the word "challenging" to describe things that are both difficult and unpleasant but still entirely necessary. Rest assured that in this case I am not one of those people. I find myself agonizing over some of the texts that the upper-level texts that Shimer has us read, but when I finally figure out their meaning, it's the most rewarding thing in the entire world. My humanities class is reading Descartes' Mediations on the First Philosophy, and while it takes me a fair chunk of time to understand the french philosopher's train of thought, I feel rather spectacular when I finally understand the heart of his argument. Other awesome things? My boyfriend (yes, the same one from the summer! Who would have thunk?!), my friends, my job in the admissions office, and the city of Chicago. Bored yet? Me, too. Let's do what we do best: Blog about fashion.

Yesterday Maura and I were walking around Macy's, drooling over designer duds. A chunky Rachel Roy cardigan had Maura doing some major coveting, and I couldn't stop staring at a gorgeous shift dress by Tracey Reese. The prices were definitely out of our range, but there's nothing like treating yourself to some in-person designer eye candy. What was a pleasant, and reasonably affordable discovery was the clearance rack. $60 , as it turns out, could make you the happy owner of a versatile, quality Kensie dress. I am not typically one to spend that much on a single clothing item. It is my embarrassing admission that I often go for quantity over quality when it comes to shopping. As a result, I have a ton of clothing, but hardly things that exude style and class. Yes, that red polka-dot trapeze dress from H&M looks adorable with a nautica-inspired belt cinching the waist, but it's not exactly an investment. It isn't versatile, and it is likely to fall apart before the end of the season. I buy too many things, waste money on clothes that aren't going to stand the test of time, and wonder why my wardrobe and bank account always seem lacking. And after venting all this to Maura while we hungrily eyed a rack of Nanette Lepore coats, I came up with my rules for shopping.

To make your rules for shopping, think about the things in your closet that get the most wear. Think about what your weaknesses are when it comes to buying new outfits. Think about people whose style you admire and what makes their outfits look so good. To get you started, here's what I came up with for myself:

1. Never buy anything from H&M, Forever 21, or any store of a similar audience/prince range. I say this not because I think these retailers are bad. I say it because every single time I walk through their doors, I find about a million tops, skirts, and dresses and feel the painful need to buy every single one of them. My mind tells me "Go for it! They're such great deals!" but these sorts of purchases are the very reason I spend way too much money in a single store and my closet is overflowing with things I've only worn once. Cheap, on-trend clothes are my weakness. I will, from here on out, only buy basics (H&M tanks are my favorite things to layer with) from the aforementioned stores.

2. Only buy one item per shopping trip. Oh, that pencil skirt is adorable! So I probably need an adorable blouse to go with it. My mind tells me this, and my heart aches for it to be true, but you know what happens when you give a mouse a cookie? She'll need to buy a pair of chocolate brown hidden-wedge boots to go with it. This rule might be too extreme for the majority of you, but it's something I really need to make to curb my cravings.

3. Only buy things that are on sale. Again, this might be too extreme for a lot of you, but if I don't make this rule, I will spend way too much on a single item. Plus it's not that hard to find crazy gorgeous things on the clearance rack.

4. Make these rules a habit by shopping with someone else who won't let you break them. In my case, this is Maura. I know I would let myself get away with ignoring my rules for the sake of a crazy cute mini dress from Forever 21, but Maura certainly wouldn't. Until I am super cemented in my shopping rules, I won't go on shopping sprees alone.

5. If you must buy more than one thing, make it an accessory. I used to take for granted the effects a good scarf can have on an entire ensemble, but seriously. It's like magic. And belts - those babies are friggin fantastic.

Well that's that for today. I am looking forward to getting back on a regular posting schedule. Have gorgeous evening/day/whatever's relevant to the time during which you are reading this.

So this is kind of a big deal.

Hey guys. This is my 300th entry on Classic Black Pumps. I started this blog my senior year of high school when I was 17 years old, and it's been a major cornerstone of my life since then. I feel like my 300th entry should be something epic, but this week has been a hectic one and the fashion-y ideas swimming in my head are few. That being the case, let's take a trip down memory lane. Enter: my favorite entries I've ever written, starting with the earliest. Enjoy!

A Tribute to Fall Colors is an assortment of pictures that Maura and Helene took outside our house. It's really very pretty and marks the beginning of my fondness for photography. I got a Flickr account around the same time this was posted.

I wrote Cupid after seeing Matthew Sheppard's mother speak at my high school. Not fashion-related, but probably one of the most emotionally-driven things I've written on my blog.

Prom-o-rama is one of my first Polyvore-packed entries. Also, this is one of the few earlier entries in which the outfits are something I would consider wearing nowadays. Seriously. A lot of entries before it have clothing that, when looking at them today, I'm like "Ew. Really, Hillary?"

RIP Alexander McQueen. This entry marks the very first day I fell in love with him.

One of my fondest blogging memories? Being sent two tubes of Lipstick Queen lipstick and a postcard from Poppy King after I mentioned a Nylon article on her apartment in this here entry. It left me pretty starstruck. I still want/need to read her book, "Lessons of a Lipstick Queen."

LOLOLOLOL. I totally referred to a rather Jersey Shore-esque Chanel Resort collection as "quietly sexy." Love is no longer blind, friends.

I think this ranks as one of my favorite entries I've ever written.

I am still crazy coveting the Marchesa dresses in this entry.

I LOVED HER FIRST! TOLD YOU!

One of the first entries I wrote during my freshman year of college. I just realized that I've written the majority of this blog as a college student. Crazy stuff, no?

Wow. I think this was the first and last time I went over a collection, look by look. I was really obsessed with Chanel then, wasn't I?

I have done very few outfit posts, and in this one, I'm wearing purple knit tights by Juicy Couture.

Since writing this entry, things have changed considerably. Not the whole dressing-to-the-nines part. I still do that on a daily basis. But rather, the reactions my peers have to my outfits. They're amazingly supportive now and considerably stylish themselves. We've all evolved.

Fashion is fun. This remains one of my favorite collections to date. It makes me smile.

Here we have an entry inspired by Gala Darling and based on my roommates at the time (also there's a hint of Maura in there, of course). My roommates loved this entry. It was awesome making them a part of my fashion blogging world.

I don't wanna talk about it. I'm so happy that the Tumblr phase was short-lived.

A Rock Band-inspired collection? Yes, please!

Something awesome about keeping a blog is being able to look back and see how you've changed. I hope that this entry will always function to remind me of how much I've grown.

Enter my first attempt at articulating the academic side of fashion.

When I wrote this entry, I was finally, after nearly three years, getting the hang of the whole blogging thing. This is very much in part due to my internship with IFB. What a learning experience!

Thank you all so much for being a part of this adventure with me. I really love the world I've found in fashion blogging, and I hope to be a part of it for a long time. I've always been soft-spoken, a follower. This blog is the first thing I've done that is mine and only mine. I am so proud of what I've created here and through it I've learned that I have the capability to create even more. This blog has given me a voice when I used to think I wasn't worthy of one. I used to (and sometimes still do) spend my days shuffling about quietly, not wanting to upset anyone and only speaking when spoken to. This blog has changed all of that, helping me to learn that I have a lot to say and I say it well. So yes. Fashion blogging, you rule. And readers, you do, too. Have a beautiful weekend. I really love you all.

Saving face.

This morning I overslept a a little bit. I had 45 minutes before I had to be at work, so I was going to have to work fast. After brushing my teeth, washing my face, and putting on moisturizer, I slid into a pair of skinny jeans, cuffed them up a la capris, and threw a menswear-inspired button down over it. Tan sandals completed the look and I still had 5 minutes before I needed to catch my bus. I looked in the mirror. Good hair day, but my face looked dull and tired. That's when I employed my new go-to summer beauty routine. It's fast and keeps you looking polished and stylish all day long.

1. It all starts with powder. Too Faced Invisible Powder always does the trick for me. Keeps the shine away and can conquer the sticky feeling that usually goes hand in hand with Chicago mugginess.
2. Next, Coralista by Benefit gets brushed on the apples of my cheeks.Without reloading the brush, I dust a little on my forehead, nose, chin - anywhere the sun would naturally hit - immediately after. Any coral blush will do. Just make sure it's not too pigmented and looks natural on your skin tone. Nothing like a little bit of blush to give you some healthy color.
3. It's time for eyeliner. Lately I've been using Stila Kohl Liner in Tiger's Eye, but I feel like kohl might not be the best call. MAC Eyeliner in Industrial is a recent favorite. Going for a steely blue is always a good bet. A little on the lower lash and a little on the upper.
4. There's no need for heavy eyeshadow. Apply Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Sellout almost like a highlighter.
5. Smashbox O-Gloss looks pink and playful when slathered on lips. The color being not as natural-looking as the rest of your makeup is just fine. There's a balance and it makes you look more than just wide awake. It makes it look like you actually put thought into your appearance.
5. Last but not least, curl those eyelashes and get out the door. Unless it's a special ocassion, I tend to pass on mascara. I find it to look too dramatic for daytime and not using it cuts a fair amount out of my routine. For a lot of people, the too-dramaticness is not the case, but when matched with the way I usually do my eyes, mascara looks out of place.

I've been at work for quite some time now and my makeup is still holding strong. Of course looking like you're awake doesn't necessarily mean you feel that way. I'm all about iced vanilla lattes to take care of the rest. Alriiiighty. Have a wonderful weekend. Muwah!

Not for the festivals.

Festival style has very much become its own entity. Girls in breezy floral print dresses and tan riding boots cover the fields in front of outdoor stages where indie darlings play and sing. Bloggers create boho, heat-friendly looks on Polyvore and Urban Outfitters is always selling loads of easy-to-wear cut-off shorts and button-downs this time of year. But whatever happened to straight up concert duds? Just because it's hot out doesn't mean bands stop playing indoors. So what to wear when your favorite bands has found themselves a dark, packed venue? If you're anything like me, band tees and distressed skinny jeans don't pass muster. Here are some looks to make you stand out from the crowd and help you dance along in style.

It's been a long day. I think tonight will consist of watching a movie and lying low in sweats and a none too trendy shirt. Possibly tie-dye. Forgive me fashion. I am about to sin. I hope the rest of you have something to dress up for. Enjoy the evening!

Flappers and Philosophers

I'm kind of obsessed with F. Scott Fitzgerald. I've read every book he's ever completed and have been known to go into great detail explaining the plots of some of his short stories. His lyrical descriptions had won me over before I'd even finished the first sentence of "The Great Gatsby." A love for all things 1920s came with my fondness for the author, and while I'm not exactly one to sport long strands of pearls and drop-waist dresses, the style of the era has a special place in my heart. This is why it's no surprise I've been totally loving the Jazz-Age dance party pictures on The Sartorialist. Here are my favorites.

Aren't they glorious? It makes me want to throw on a flapper dress and do the charleston. They don't make dance moves like they used to, darlings.

Today I'm adoring...

I know my posting has been sporadic, but it's not without good cause, I promise. Hokay. Hillary's favorite things. Here we go.

♥ Working. Whether it be as an intern for IFB (holla atcha gurl) or in the Shimer admissions office, I am staying busy! No lazy summer for me. No ma'am. I mean, both of the aforementioned responsibilities are blessedly flexible as far as my hours ago, but that doesn't mean I'm sleeping in until 1 in the afternoon. My summers used to mean moping around guiltily, dwelling in my laziness. Now I'm a girl who has things to do. And I love it.

♥ The boyfriend. I know, I know. This one makes me sound like a broken record but my goodness he makes me so insanely giddy I can hardly stand it. I wish I could go into more detail for all ya'all, but it would just sound super corny and you would all have to run and vomit because of all the sugary sweetness. Seriously though. He's awesome. That is all.

This dress. I tried it on the other day at Urban Outfitters, not expecting much. I had some time to kill, so I figured just trying it on would do little harm. I was so wrong. It slipped on like it was made for me and I turned towards the mirror in wonder. It is not my typical style. To say that it's too daring for me makes me sound fashionably wimpy, but it kind of is (and I kind of am). But this dress fit so well and it was the perfect length and who wouldn't be a sucker for that print? I bought it. I love it. It's perfect for the humid weather and has loads of personality. Love love love it.

♥ Inception. See this movie. As soon as possible.

♥ My lovely friends. Pat is doing this killer internship in DC and I'm so proud of him. Talking to him via text or Facebook message continues to be a highlight of daily life. Maura is in Mexico having a pre-college adventure. I can't wait to see her again and hear all her stories. I post silly links on Lily and Helene's walls almost daily, and my roommates are the best for late night nachos and girl talk. I am so lucky to have such funny, talented people in my life.

♥ MAC Eyeshadow in Woodwinked. It is the prettiest shimmering shade of brown. I wore it yesterday and it made me feel like a million bucks. It also pairs well with Benefit Rush Hour on the lips and cheeks.

That's all for today. Posting will continue to be sporadic because I'm a'goin camping this week. Everyone have a beautiful few days. Muwah!

It is way too hot out.

Hey guys. Remember that one time when I was complaining about how the summer weather isn't acting like summer weather? As I lie here in my room in Chicago the window open in a desperate attempt to catch a rare cool breeze, I take it all back. My fan is as close to my bed as the cord will allow it to go and showering daily feels almost futile, the humidity doing its part to make me feel gross and sticky immediately after. That's why this entry is accompanied with pictures of Maura, Lily, and Helene playing frisbee in the park back home in Oregon. Note the layers Lily and Helene are sporting. These photos were taken in June. They make me long for the west coast just a little bit. Layers here in Chicago in the middle of July are nothing short of silly. And while Oregon has warmed up considerably, the heat is very dry. Curse you, humidity.

How do you beat the humidity? I haven't quite mastered it. My typical M.O. as of late has been short jersey dresses and sandals. Of course, light dresses in the Windy City are a bit of a risk. I step outside and a weak warm gale threatens to toss my skirt up around my waist. My remedy to that problem has been a switch to short shorts and breezy tops, but at the end of the day, it feels like I'm peeling my shorts off. If it weren't for societal constraints and my own love for clothing, I'd just go naked. That being out of the question, I turn to you, dear readers. Oregon has never really been host to much humidity, so it's been taking some getting used to. Anyone with more experience with this kind of weather, please speak up. Also chime in with your summer makeup tips. I feel like everything melts off my face within my first five minutes of sun exposure.

Made in the shade.

A couple of days ago, I was looking at sunglasses at Nordstrom's. Usually I gravitate towards Betsey Johnson shades or Kate Spades. But something different caught my eye this time. Fendi. I've too long overlooked this designer, and for what? Fendi is wonderful! And the little rose on all of their sunglasses has entirely won my heart. I'm currently coveting this pair, in particular.

I have a pair of Cynthia Rowley oversized sunglasses. And a big pair of pink heart-shaped ones from Claires. I love both of them, but I wouldn't be opposed to adding another to my rotation. I'm going to have to go do some scavenging at Nordstrom Rack sometime soon.

Fashion, academically.

I'm a student at a liberal arts school. I spend August through May with the writings of great minds. My freshman year I fell in love with Hobbes and last year introduced me to the wonders of Sartre and Hannah Arendt. My copy of The Second Sex is packed with margin notes, I kind of adore Beckett, and I think that Rousseau was a lazy hippie. The intense curriculum is sort of responsible for my blog. With upwards of 200 pages to read a night, there's little time to browse Style.com or accessorize. While I started the blog as a high schooler, it's become essential to my sanity since starting college. My love for the fashion world needs an outlet and Classic Black Pumps provides that. And I try to incorporate fashion into my studies. I wrote a paper about Communism meaning the ultimate downfall of the fashion industry. My Natural Sciences final essay talked about fashion trends being an accelerated mirror of evolution. It's a little mission of mine to prove to my fellow scholars that fashion has a place in academics. Now, there's already a pretty brilliant list of this nature on the wonderful blog, Academic Chic, but I thought I would make my own version of the list.

-Fashion, Culture, and Identity; by Fred Davis
-The End of Fashion: How Marketing Changed the Clothing Business Forever; by Teri Agins
-The Language of Fashion; by Roland Barthes
-The Fashion System; by Roland Barthes
-Appearance and Identity: Fashioning the Body in Postmodernity; by Llewellyn Negrin
-Queen of Fashion: What Marie Antoinette Wore to the Revolution; by Caroline Weber*
-The Fashion Reader; by Abby Lillethun
-Fugitive Denim: A Moving Story of People and Pants in a Fugitive World; by Rachel Louise Snyder

Fashion isn't just about what looks pretty. It's about history, society, and art. And we style mavens need to be well versed on the subject. Happy reading!

*This book is pretty much the cornerstone of my scholarly forays into fashion. If you only read one, this is it. So good.

Greetings from Chicago!

Hey guys. I'm alive. Alive and happy. It's really great being back in Chicago. I missed it oh so much. I'm dealing with a bit of a headache today but rest assured that I'll be back in blogging business by tomorrow. In the meantime, let's lust after this adorable tote together.

And for $110, I'm almost tempted to go for it. No no no, Hillary. Save up for something you actually need.

Lil bit of a hiatus.

I go back to Chicago in less than a week. I'm very much looking forward to being back in the city, and extra super duper excited about seeing my wonderful boyfriend again. It make a me sad, too, though. I have 6 days left here in Oregon. That said, I won't be posting on my blog again until July 5. I want to get all I can out of my last few days with my family and when I get back to Chicago, I've got a lot of catching up to do. No worries though. You can still find out what I'm up to on Twitter and IFB. Everyone have a lovely few weeks. Enjoy the sun and stay stylish!

Father's Day!

Dad and I asleep at the airport several years ago : )

My dad is the smartest man in the world. I've been convinced of this since I was maybe 2 years old. Still am, and it's not blindly that I think this. Ask him why he feels the way he does about any given issue, and you'll get some incredibly logical, well-informed reasoning. He's also the strongest. The guy has run a 100-mile race in less than 30 hours. And the bravest. And the kindest. Yup. I'm fairly certain my dad is a super human. He works harder than anyone I've ever met and has this insanely high level of self discipline that I wish I'd inherited. He's taught my brother and sister and I to be fair and keep our integrity. He goes out of his way to make sure we all have the means to follow our desired path. He is patient - most notably on a trip to New York, where he braved 3 Broadway musicals, and waited patiently outside stores while my mom and sister and I shopped. He always puts other's needs before his own. The admirable qualities aside, he also has a fantastic sense of humor. The home he and my mother created for my siblings and I is full of laughter and love. Daddy, you're wonderful. Thank you so much for everything and a belated happy father's day! ♥

Hair, man.

I just got my hair cut. I was tired of the long plain jane locks. And what better way to flaunt the thick, shiny hair I was blessed with than with a fresh, classic cut. Kind of a bob. Here, darlings. Take a look.

Anywho, I'm really digging the new hair. My only problem is that it isn't terribly wash and wear. I'm a low maintenance gal as far as hair styling goes. The style you see above is the result of my talented hairdresser and her expertise with a straightener, blow dryer, a round comb. Also a lil bit of makeup, since I was all dolled up for a day out with Maura, Helene, and Lily. Now the image you are about to see below is the result of doing my usual showering before bed, then letting it all dry overnight.

I know both photos don't exactly give the best idea of how the hair sits, but I'm all about flattering angles over all else, so bear with me. Now I want to know what you think. Is the cut done up wash and wear drab enough to make daily styling worth it? Or should I save the straightener for special occasions? I need your input, lovelies.

On your feet.

One of my favorite parts about summer is that it's too hot out to wear Uggs. I can't stand those things. Seeing them in public is an assault on my eyes. And they have a way of ruining a perfectly adorable outfit. You could be wearing the cutest skinny jeans, a boyfriend blazer and a button-down from, like, a Gap designer collaboration, but if you've chosen to complete the look with Uggs, it invalidates your entire sartorial taste. Uggs are outfit destroyers. Luckily, they tend leave with the rain and win. So you can imagine my disappointment when I realized that there is another type of footwear lurking around every corner, waiting to wreck the ensemble of what would be an otherwise stylish girl. I am speaking, of course, of flip flops. I have a few pairs. I throw them on when I'm taking out the trash or running to the grocery store. They do okay with shorts and a sweatshirt. If I'm going swimming, I throw them in a beach tote. All that said, I would never ever wear them with a dress. It's been my observation on the recently sunny days that flip flops can destroy a perfectly lovely look. If you want that sundress to wear you, and not the other way around, be my guest. Put on those flip flops and rock them like you don't quite understand what it means to have some semblance of consistency in your clothes. But there are alternatives that make a lot more sense when it comes to dresses. Try gladiators. Or strappy heels. Don't go the easy route! Make your ensembles your own, and keep the flip flops on hand for when you're getting the paper in the morning or letting your dog out. That is all.

From the very doldrum-y desk of Hillary.

How many guilty pleasures are you allowed to have? Because I always sheepishly admit to a fondness for Ke$ha, reality shows like Real Housewives and the Hills, and reading the latest issue of Cosmo from cover to cover. Is that too much? When does it stop having a few guilty pleasures and start being a person with incredibly bad taste. This is a point of concern here. Another point of concern, and I know I've beat this one into the ground, but why it still raining? IT'S JUNE. Ugh.

Honestly, I have very little to say today. I do, however, have some Polyvore collages. There's no theme. At first I was going to pitch them to you as outfits for a second date (cause you can dress comfier than you did on the first!) but as I started writing it just felt sort of flat. Second draft talked about what to wear when you and your friends partake in summertime activities (the beach! window shopping! late night trips to the park!) but once more serious writer's block ensued. I offer the ensembles to you nonetheless. Feel free to wear them on a second date. Wear them to the beach or on a cross-country road trip or as you take your dog for a walk. Maybe not so much the outfit with the heels for the beach. Or when you walk your dog. But you have the common sense to know that.

Tomorrow I'm going shopping with my mother and sister. I need new clothes! New jeans and shorts and couple cardigans and tops. And dresses. Well I don't actually need those, but I always want them. I've blogged a lot lately about "summer essentials" and I hope to stock up on a few of my own. Okay. It's time to go celebrate the fact that it's Friday. No more reality tv watching. This girl is getting out. Kisses, have a lovely weekend, and I'll talk to you on Monday.

Songs for your summer.

As the rain poured on me and my skinny vanilla latte this morning, I still couldn't deny a particular sunshiny feeling that was bubbling up inside. Oh, weather. You try to fool me, but I know it's summer. I know that right now is the time for lazy mornings and daydreaming and reading chick lit. I know it would be silly to break out my gladiator sandals and sundresses, but I think it's never too cold out for a summer soundtrack and pretty pictures.

These are my picks for songs that make the clouds go away and put visions of barefoot picnics and rooftop stargazing in your head.

Unbelievable - Sleepy Rebels
If We Ever Meet Again - Timbaland (feat. Katy Perry)
Too Young - Phoenix
Someday - The Strokes
Get Lucky - Dragonette
All My Friends - Land of Talk
Horchata - Vampire Weekend
Brand New Shoes - She & Him
Y Control - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
She's Expensive - The Virgins
Another Likely Story - Au Revoir Simone
On A Whim - Flying Machines
Found In The Ground - Girls in Hawaii
Lloyd, I'm Ready to be Heartbroken - Camera Obscura
Hey, Soul Sister - Train
Autopilot - East Hundred
Wonderful - Lady GaGa

A few of these songs were inspired by the second to last episodes of "The Hills" and "The City." Because they always play fun, girly songs on those shows. By the way, hasn't "The Hills" improved immeasurably since Speidi unceremoniously disappeared? I certainly think so. Hurray for a return to LA girls dating and dancing and gossiping and not too much else! "The Hills" is nearly back to its original glory. Just throw LC into the picture again, and I'll be happier than Lo when she gets her Pinkberry fro-yo with fruity pebbles mixed in.

In other news, Oregon is really very pleasant. After such a stressful school year, a visit home is exactly what the doctor ordered. And a girl gets to missin' trees and mountains once she's spent several months in the middle of Chicago. I love this state and I love being able to spend time with my family. The only downside? Missing THE BOY. Yes, the boy. He's really rather cute and I can't remember the last time I felt this smitten. We've been dating for maybe a month and a half now, and a third of that time has been spent with the two of us in different states. Thank goodness for Facebook and cell phones. Alright! I need to go chop up some vegetables for dinner tonight. I love you all so dearly. Have a beautiful evening!

Blogger style.

Have you seen the Danny Roberts-illustrated tees now being sold at Forever 21? Of course you have, the internets been buzzing about them like mad. I love every single one of them. These tees feature illustrations of some super stylish bloggers and are printed on different cuts of silky white tops. My favorite is the one of Geri from Because I'm Addicted. It's retailing for only $14.80 and I would be crazy to miss out on such an affordable limited edition piece. Just look at the cuteness.

Which tee do you like best? Are you going to get the adorable Alice Point tee? Or maybe the tank featuring blond siren Carolina of Fashion Squad? Whichever tee floats your boat, I suggest you order one up fast. I don't think these tops will be on the shelves for long.
